Product Description
Theme: The Age of Steam is the 3rd edition reprint of the classic rail game by popular designer Martin Wallace. Now, more than ever, you will be able to develop your rail routes across the country, issuing shares and transporting goods in a bid to generate the most income.
The new edition of Age of Steam supports 36 expansions which have been created over the past 6 years for this game - testimony to its amazing popularity!
This game includes the Age of Steam: Barbados / St. Lucia expansion.
Gameplay: Age of Steam is a classic rail game, but this is not a 'light' game of strategy. It's a serious economic and development game with a well tied together rail theme where players are the rial barons of yesteryear.
Each turn, players will have to bid for position, issue shares to generate income, choose their abilities and build their rails. Only then will they be able to transfer goods across their newly built track, attempting to generate sufficient income to pay their dividends.
However, as they become more successful, more and more income will be taken away, forcing players to plan ahead to ensure their linkages will provide them the most funds possible as the number of goods keeps decreasing.
It's a grinding, highly analytical game that will offer a ton of replay value and force players to consider all their moves. If you're looking for something lighter, try Chicago Express or Railroad Tycoon.
