Product Description
Theme: In Alexandros, the players are following after Alexander and his army as it passes through Persia to India. As he does so, he conquers wide swaths of areas, allowing the players to pacify; occupy and finally tax these areas for Alexanders army. Players are governors in Alexandros, attempting to gain control of these areas and provide the most amount of taxes to Alexander at the end of the game.
Gameplay: In Alexandros, the board is a triangular board that depicts various cities and the areas around the cities. In Alexandros, players use movement cards (either from their hand or those displayed) to move Alexander across the board, signifying his conquest of new regions or journey through already conquered regions.
As Alexander moves across regions, players can then attempt to drop additional knights in the cities of that region, attempting to gain control of the region as he does so by placing cards that match each of the icons represented.
Scoring occurs only in uncontested regions - and all regions that are scoreable are scored at the same time, so knowing when to force scoring to occur is a large part of the strategy in Alexandros.
