Product Description
Theme: Arena Maximus pits players in a race to the death for the glory of the Roman Emperor in an alternate world where magic is all too real. As the roman charioteers of yore, players must battle the dangerous track and each other for the laurel of victory, direct from the emperor himself.
Gameplay: In Arena Maximus, each player receives a charioteer card at the beginning of the game that indicates the Beast, Driver and Chariot stats for the game; with all stats totaling up to 10 for each charioteer. Beast cards indicate a chariots acceleration, driver the number of discards available and chariot stats the hit-points.
The track is then randomly created at the start of the game, with players dealt a hand of 7 cards - these cards consist of Whip, Rein and Magic actions.
During a turn in Arena Maximus, players may adjust their speed by playing Whip / Rein cards onto their speed track and then drawing up to 7 cards (including those on the speed track). This simulates players having less control as their chariot speeds up as cards will need to be discarded to attack and avoid obstacles.
A fast moving racing game, players in Aerena Maximus will have to balance speed and attacks on other players with the possibility of being eliminated by the track and others.
