Product Description
Theme : Reissued in 2005, Barbarossa is a modern classic. Created by award winning designer Klaus Teuber, players must create objects from clay which other players will, during the course of the game, attempt to guess. To complicate matters though, at different points in the game, you'll win and lose points depending on the number of correct guesses of what the object is.
Gameplay : In Barbarossa, players start by using modeling clay to make objects. Each turn, players move around the board by rolling a die or spending gems to choose their movement. The spaces on the board determine the actions taken by the player and those include : receiving victory points, asking a letter of an object or asking a general question or making a single guess until you get a No answer. Players also can play three curse stones that can be used twice in the game to make a single guess. Each guess is written down and passed to the owner of the object who then answers affirmative or not. Each correct guess allows you to place an arrow in the object and win points. However, the object owner can gain or lose points depending on the total number of arrows in the object at any one time. Worst, if you make the object too hard, you'll lose points at the end of the game! An intriguing game with so many different possibilities, it certainly has stood the test of time.
