Theme : Battlelore allows players the feel of commanding vast armies of troops in a magical Medieval Europe where Dwarves, Goblins, Wizards and Hill Giants roam. Using a customizable War Council of Wizards, Clerics, Warriors and Rogues to aid in the battle, Commanders must consider their initial battle strategy and adapt to the fluid pace of combat in this war game. With a ton of replayability in the base game and a number of expansions already released, Battlelore is a must for any fantasy war gamer.
This is the Repurposed French Edition with English Language cards and reference sheets. The rulebook can be downloaded from FFGs website
Gameplay : Battlelore uses the familiar Command Colors system (the same system used in Memoir '44 & Combat Commander : Ancients) to allow players to command their armies.
In Battlelore, the gameboard is separated into 3 sections (left, center, right) where battle cards will give directions to their various army units in each section. Commanding archers, cavalry, infantry, dwarves and goblins, players will have to balance the various forces and their hands to win.
In addition, Battlelore players must also take into account the abilities of the War Council of Wizards, Clerics, Warriors and Rogues that can affect the course of battle.
With a full campaign book, Battlelore introduces the various units and abilities in easy to set-up and replay scenarios, adding layers of complexity to this popular fantasy wargame.
