Theme : Blokus is one of the greatest interactive puzzle games ever created. An abstract game, players are provided multi-shaped coloured pieces that must be placed on the board.
To win Blokus, you will have to maneuver around your opponents pieces to maximize your placement options. Voted Mensa's Best Mind Game of 2003, you can be sure that Blokus will puzzle and intrigue for hours to come.
Gameplay : Learning Blokus is extremely simple and quick. Players begin with a set of multi-shaped pieces in their own colour; each set being exactly the same. They must then place a piece so that it diagonally touches one of their own but has no adjacent connections.
The goal of the game is to place as many of your pieces as possible - the player with the least number of squares on his remaining pieces wins.
In a two-player game of Blokus, players manage two colours. In a three player game, players manage their own colour while taking turns to place the third colour.
While Blokus is an extremely simple game to learn and play, the myriad complexities of placement and multi-shaped pieces makes this a game that will hit the table repeatedly. Blokus furthermore has such an abstract theme that it is unlikely to discourage new players, making it a perfect introductory game to the world of board games.
