Gameplay : Carcassonne the City follows the award-winning Carcassonne game design of placing a tile and then a follower on a terrain feature. New rules on how the tiles are stacked including new components such as walls and towers give the game a new perspective while some older rules have been tweaked. Players now only need to arrange roads in a continuous pattern, all other features can be cut off abruptly, altering the strategy and allowing players to use a tile straight away. Meeples (followers) continue to be an important of the game and are how scoring is completed.
