Theme : San Juan brings Puetro Rico’s golden age to life! Players travel to the capital city of this beautiful island to develop their plantations and the city itself in a bid to become the richest individual in the city.

Gameplay : San Juan is played in a series of rounds, with each round consisting of multiple turns. Each turn is taken by a different player who may choose a role that specifies a specific action. These actions include building, producing goods, trading goods, prospecting and more. Each of these actions may be taken by all players, but the player who chooses the action gains an additional privilege in that role.

As the game continues, players will take the various roles to build up their city and plantations, using the resources drawn selling goods from the plantation or prospecting to draw additional cards. These cards can then be used to build their city / plantation further, the cost of building a card calculated through the ingenious method of discarding cards from the hand.

San Juan is a fast playing game that is similar to the highly ranked, award winning Puerto Rico board game. San Juan is a light strategy, fast playing card game that has a depth that allows both beginning and advanced players to enjoy.
