Celtica

Theme : Celtica is based on the Irish legend of Chú Chulainn and the 10 magic amulets he bestowed upon his loyal followers. Players take the role of aspirants to the throne in 11th century Ireland, searching for the lost and destroyed magical amulets with the aid of five Druids. The players who recover and complete the most number of amulets will be the winner and be crowned the new King of Ireland in this award winning family board game.

Gameplay : To win Celtica, players must complete as many amulets as possible. Each amulet is made up of 9 distinct pieces, the four corners, the center and four edges. Amulet pieces are identical except for the middle piece. At the start of the game, players receive 2 randomly dealt amulet cards and five druid cards. Druid cards affect the movement of their specific druids (all color coded) on the game board. Players receive (or lose) amulet pieces by landing their druids on specific locations on the game board but can only move one druid a turn.

Celtica is a light family game, with low levels of strategic options but quick game play. A definite draw for families and those who enjoy great artwork.
