Product Description

Theme: In Citadels you must choose your roles wisely to build the largest and most magnificent city in all the lands. Each turn, you can only control one member of the city in your quest to build the greatest Citadel, but care must be taken as the other players are out to thwart you.

With the ability to host 2 to 7 players and game rules that are simple to learn, Citadels is able to fit any size group and experience level.

This version includes the Dark City expansion

Gameplay: In Citadels, players take turns to choose one of eight roles - assassin, thief, magician, king, bishop, merchant, architect and warlord. Each role then takes turns to act in order, with each player able to activate the individual roles ability and collect gold or building cards to further develop their city.

In Citadels, the depth of strategy occurs from role choice each turn and the usage of the scarce choices and resources. As a number of the roles directly affect other roles, and the roles available to a player can change every turn, a player will need to constantly adjust their strategy.

At the end of the game, the player with the greatest city at the end of the game is the victor.

Citadels is a fun little game that is easily transportable wherever you go. With very few pieces, the game is extremely light and packaging is small and simple. In fact, the entire game can easily be fit into a sandwich bag and taken on a hiking trip. Cit Review by TR (Posted on 12/5/08)
