Theme : The Cold War between the CIA and KGB is re-enacted in this card game. World War II is over, but a new war has begun between the East and West. Now, the USA and USSR struggle to be the only superpower in the world.
Gameplay : Cold War: CIA vs. KGB allows players to take charge of the spy newtworks of the USA or the USSR. Players struggle to "persuade" foreign governments to embrace their ideology through the use of coup's, assassinations and special events to glorify your nation.
Each turn, a new objective (normally a nation) is turned over. Players must strive to exert sufficient influence (the target number on the card) without betraying their hand (going over the influence number). Players do so by the use of their Agents, groups and event cards. As each group and agent has a special power, cards must be played carefully to win the necessary objectives to reach 100 victory points.
