Theme : Coloretto is a fast playing card game of set collection and matching. In Coloretto, players strive to gain the most number of cards of a specific color to allow them to adapt to their environment the best.
Gameplay : Coloretto plays in a series of rounds, with a random ending card added to the deck that, when drawn, ends the game on that turn. Points are then scored, at which point players replay the game till a set score is met (decided by the players at the start of the game).
In Coloretto, players place a set of row cards (equal to the number of players) in front of them. Each turn, a player has two choices - take one of the rows (and all cards on the row) or draw and place a card on any row that has space left (maximum of 3 cards per row). Each card is colour coded and the aim of the game for players is to collect as many cards of the same colour as possible. To complicate matters however, only the top 3 colours are scored positively, all other colours collected subtract from the players score.
Additional cards available in Coloretto are +2 point cards and wild cards that may be any colour. Coloretto gains its complexity from the conflicting needs to take additional risks (for more cards) or to reduce risk and 'harm' other players by 'seeding' rows with wrongly coloured cards (for your opponent). Coloretto is a fast playing card game with extremely short rounds and easy to learn rules with interesting strategic and tactical decisions each turn.
