Theme : In Colosseum you take on the role of a Roman impresario, staging games and other spectacles to draw spectators. Each turn, players earn wealth and glory for each event run, creating more inventive and ambitious events to further whet the masses appetites.
To do so, arenas must be improved, performers found and the Emperor and his nobles must be drawn to gain the final title of Grand Impresario.
Gameplay: Colosseum is played over five turns, during each of which you will produce an event in your colosseum. The attendance at your event determines your income - which you will spend to produce bigger and better events in the future - and whoever has the highest attendance in any single event is the winner.
Event attendance is determined by the base value of the program you are producing at Colosseum minus whatever props and performers (determined by asset tiles) you are unable to provide. In addition, there are numerous ways to increase attendance including the number of previous events you have put on, star performers, senators and the like.
