Product Description

Theme : In Cutthroat Caverns, players take on the role of one of a party of paranoid, untrusting adventurers. Having succeeded in acquiring an artifact of untold power, they must now exit the dungeon and face the monsters that lie between them and safety. However, it is not just the monsters but their fellow party members your adventurer must be wary of.

"Without teamwork, you will never survive. Without betrayal, you’ll never win."

Gameplay : Cutthroat Caverns is played over 9 turns with each turn producing a random monster encounter. In each turn, players are dealt Initiative cards that indicate when they will be attacking the monster before them. As only the player who lands the final blow will gain the prestige for the kill, Cutthroat Caverns becomes a game of kill stealing. Players will have to jockey for position, timing the strength of their blows and fouling the blows of other players to ensure that they are the one's who deal the final blow. At the same time, each monster will injure certain party members, so being certain to avoid injury is a major goal as well for players.

To win Cutthroat Caverns, the player's must collect the most prestige points after successfully surviving all 9 encounters. However, as adventurers can and do die-off, players must be careful not to kill off other characters too soon - or they will be unable to escape the dungeon themselves.

Cutthroat Cavenrs is a unique combination of cooperative game play and opportunistic backstabbing that will appeal to fans of Order of the Stick or Munchkin.
