Theme : In Drakon, a group of adventurers have been captured by the malicious dragon. Bored, the dragon has decided to make a game of the adventurers, forcing them to search through the lair to collect gold pieces. The most successful will be allowed to escape, leaving his friends to their gruesome fate.
Gameplay : Drakon is a tile-laying game in the vein of the popular Carcassonne. Each turn, players must choose to either lay down and draw a dungeon tile from their hand of four (4) or move their hero according to the movement arrows on the board. Most rooms in the dungeo provide a special ability, with gold pieces scattered throughout the dungeon for collection with variable values.
Optional rules in Drakon add spice as well including hero specific abilities and the 'Escape' rules, where players must journey to an escape tile after collecting their 10 gold, increasing the tension and lengthening the game.

- dungeon tiles now measure 2.5" by 2.5" with new artwork
- tiles include a combination of rooms from Drakon - 2nd Edition and Drakon Expansion 1
- new rules, variants, and player aids are provided
- each gold piece now has a value between 1 and 3
