Theme: In Flandern 1302, you begin the game as a guild after the Flemish Guilds' Revolution. Provided autonomy and governance of the towns, the various Flemish guilds now battle for supremacy and control among themselves.
Gameplay: In Flandern 1302, each player represents one city. They start the game with a set of tiles in 3 shapes, a set of cards for each city and 4 action cards. Each turn, players can play a card and place a tile either from their set or from the church or any neutral set available. Tiles of the same colour cannot touch and only church tiles allow cities to expand.
Whenever a city is completed (as per the tiles placed), it is scored with the score being total number of tiles in the city plus one for each church and cathedral. Players receive varying amounts of points depending on the number of tiles within the city.
