Theme: Fredericus brings players in as Falconers in the court of Kaiser Frederik II in Castel del Monte. You are under attack in Fredericus and must fight off the mythological beasts using their falcons or hawks.
Gameplay: In Fredericus, the box includes 105 cards, an illustrated game board, and a falcon, hawk, and betting coin for each player.
Players in Fredericus play on an octagonal board where they move their hawks and falcons to capture the mythological beasts. As the hawks and falcon's can only capture beasts on different squares, players have to work out where to best position their pieces to win the game.
Additionally, points can be scored by betting on captured beasts, betting on the likely moves of other players.
