Theme : The Roman Empire is crumbling and the barbarians are at the gate. As a Roman Senator, you are attempting to survive the upcoming Visigoth invasion and continue the development of the Roman empire by managing your farms, Legions and Cities.
Gameplay : In Gloria Mundi, you start in Rome and the barbarians (the Visigoth) starts on the outskirts of the board. By the end of the game, you'll have hoped to trade places. Each turn, you play and purchase cards that produce resources and provide special effects, allowing you to move away from Rome. Each turn, the Visigoth draws nearer, destroying cards unless you can bribe him not to. The game ends when the Visigoth reaches Rome or you manage to leave the Empire.
