Magdar

Theme: The Dwarves are industriosuly digging for gems and mithril in their underground caverns, risking the wrath of Magdar. The deeper you go, the more chances that Magdar will strike against you as the higher levels have been tapped out of the richer gems. Can you dig up the riches of the earth in time before Magdar destroys the caves forever?

Gameplay: Magdar is a light game of risk management with a board that is slowly destroyed over the course of play. In Magdar, players must push their luck with the pair of dwarves they use to mine for Mithril and Gems. Each turn, a dwarf may mine for Mitrhil or a Gem. At the end of a player's turn, a die is rolled and a piece of the board corresponding to the die rolled is destroyed.

Any dwarves on the destroyed tile are sent back to the cavern entrance and lose anything they were mining at the time. The game ends when one row of tiles has been completely destroyed.

To win Magdar, players score their gems - buy may only score as many gems as they have Mitrhil pieces. Additional rules include Lures, Claim Jumping and Runic Circles to make the game more interesting in more advanced versions. Overall, Magdar is a fast playing push-your luck game that is popular among children and younger players for its great theme and high luck factor.
