Theme : Oregon in 1846 is the true Wild West. As settlers in the lush farmlands of the West, you'll need to plan when to grow your food and when to build the necessary ports, churches, warehouses, post offices and train stations to make this land successful.
Gameplay : Oregon is a game of area development and resource allocation. In Oregon, the state is divided into five (5) columns and rows with six squares at each intersection. Players are also provided a hand of four of Landscape and Building cards and fourteen (14) cowboys.
Each turn, players may play two cards from their hand, using two Landscape cards to place a cowboy and a Landscape and Building card to place a Building. As the Landscape cards and Buildings dictate where on the board a player may place his cowboys and features in Oregon, players will want to manage their hands carefully.
Points in Oregon are scored for the placement of cowboys next to buildings or buildings next to cowboys. Additionally, each building provides additional benefits that can be used to benefit players.
Oregon is a more complex area development game that works well with players who enjoy Euro-games and light strategy games with depth.
