- A stripped down Civilisation building game with Euro Mechanics Review by TR
-
Tempus is Martin Wallace's attempt to build a Civilisation-building game with very simple mechanics and actions and a short gameplay time. He succeeds in all the above, but the game itself ends up lacking the epic nature of other Civilisation building games.Value Quality Price
This is not a bad game by itself, the mechanics of a modular board that players create together, the choices and planning ahead that players must make to ensure they win each stage (or set themselves up to win the stage after that) is all quite intriguing. However, if you go in expecting a stripped down 'Civ-lite' board game, you'll be disappointed. The theme is light, the choices somewhat mechanical and the struggle resulting from competing players somehow lacks the tension of other Civ games. (Posted on 8/5/10)
