Great fun, ideal for slightly larger groups (5+) Review by Jerry

Bang has a certain western appeal to it and is a card game in which there are specific roles - Sheriff, Deputy, Outlaws, and Renegade. The roles people play are unknown except for the sheriff (face-up), although it is fairly easy to tell after a while just by who people are shooting.

There are cards that are played in front of you that aid you in some way, and there are others that you play during your turn (or out of turn in someone else tries to hurt you!).

Overall, the game play is pretty fun, and a good party game, although I have found that playing with people who don't have a long attention span tends to get bored quickly. Another downside is if you get eliminated early, there isn't much else to do until that round is over. (Posted on 5/20/12)

Great "ha ha" game. Extensions make it way more fun. Original get boring very soon. (Posted on 1/21/12)

Rather like Mafia where everyone is assigned a secret affiliation at the beginning. During each turn you pick up cards which allow you to variously add extra abilities, shoot others, defend yourself, etc.

This game is easy to learn, and it's pretty quick. It's a favorite at my parties!

The only downside is that you can be eliminated quite early from the game. (Posted on 12/27/11)
OK, but better choices. Review by Mark

I was a little bit disappointed by this game. In theory it sounds really fun, and it has provided a few great gaming experiences. However, for me the concept of the game was more fun than actually playing it. If you are looking for some great games with a hidden role mechanic, I would suggest Saboteur or Citadels instead. A cross between Citadels and Cash 'n Guns Review by Murray

Bang! is a great card game that is about in the middle in terms of complexity. It is a great game for people who are ready to make the jump from party or casual-orientated games to more hardcore games.

If you enjoy either Citadels, which is another card game with a bluff element, or Cash 'n Guns, which is another group gun pointing game, you will definitely find Bang! appealing.

Each player receives a loyalty card of some sort and only the Sheriff is known to everyone. As the game progresses, each player tries to determine the allegiance of the other players in order to fulfill their victory conditions. The cards they draw allow them to inflict damage upon specific players and it is difficult to know who will be shooting you, but easy to enact revenge if necessary.

As a card game, Bang! is inexpensive. The quality of the cards is about middle grade, but the way the various cards are used together to keep track of information is pretty smart and removes the need of small game parts.

Bang! plays fairly fast and is very enjoyable. It is relatively easy to learn and most new players tend to want a second or even third round in a single night. The game is also pretty portable, since it is a card game. Well recommended to anyone in general. (Posted on 9/8/09)

Bang! is an award winning, best selling card game that has easy to learn mechanics and engrossing gameplay. Players in Bang! receive a specific and secret role and one of a dozen plus famous Western gunmen (or women) to control. They must then work together to either kill or protect the Sheriff.

The only player who has to announce his affiliation is the Sheriff and with weapons only having a limited range, players need to work fast to figure out whose side everyone is on to win the game.

Fun, fast playing and great for large parties, Bang! is a light, large group game that is easily portable. (Posted on 6/30/09)
