- Best way to get carcasonne Review by sylvia

This box is great value for the price. The game is amazing and as long as you're willing to make the inital investment it's a great way to get a whole bunch of expansions from the get-go.Price Value Quality
The box is a bit large though, we bought the tower expansion and put ALL The tiles in that box, it's much more portable now (Posted on 4/18/12) - Wow Review by mitch

I wish this box was available when I purchased the base game and expansions, what a great value. I have more money invested in this great game and have less expansions than this box. What a deal! (Posted on 11/6/11)Price Value Quality - Lots of Fun and Lots of Possibilities Review by Jacques

Getting five expansions together is a great deal and it provides many different possibilities as you learn how to play each expansion and then begin to mix them.Value Quality Price
The box that this set comes in is huge and kind of cumbersome. It makes the box for Axis and Allies look small.
If you like Carcassonne then you'll love this set. If you've never played Carcassonne I recommend this game to you. It is a lot of fun, and with the expansions you can play from very simple and very fun to fairly complicated and still a lot of fun. If you want a game with luck, strategy and fun this is the game for you! This set comes with the basic Carcassonne set plus 5 major expansions and a few minor ones. If you have played any other Carcassonne game and don’t own it you should start with this set as it has everything you need and then some.Price Value Quality
The game consists of drawing tiles and placing them down so you complete features such as roads, cities and cloisters. You then “own” this features based on playing your followers on the tiles. The game can be simple and calm if you use the basic set and maybe 1 or 2 of the expansions collecting victory points to win the game.
The game can get nasty with the dragon and princess expansion where your followers are either eaten or wooed away by the princess. The luck - is drawing the tiles randomly, the strategy – is based on the placement of your tiles and if you want to build on your own features or try to steal someone else’s. Fun - well that depends if you want the basic more family friendly game or the expansions that can be a little meaner.
I recommend this game to anyone as it can please the casual game player to the hardcore gamer that enjoys causing havoc for their opponents.

I will be reviewing each expansion on its own, but I wanted to talk about the whole box.Price Value Quality
Getting the majority of the expansions all in one (handy?) box is a great idea. The best part in the concise, combined instruction box that lays out all the expansions, including some situations where you are not sure which rule comes first.
Lastly, if you get this box, make sure that you space out adding expansions. Eventually, yes, playing "Super Carcassonne" (as I call it) is a blast (and a bit of a marathon), but don't dive into the deep end right at the beginning. Go through the rulebook in order and learn the expansions as they come. (Posted on 9/21/10) - Buy It All, But Play It Slow Review by Wasgo

Carcassonne Big Box 2 includes all the variations on Carcassonne that you could ever want. These expansions can make the game longer, allow for more players and add excellent variation to a great game. It's important not to try them all at once though. Before trying any of the expansions, you should play through the basic game at least a few times. While many people will claim the game is better with the expansions, that's only after already having a good handle on the base game. This is definitely the edition to buy, just don't find yourself trying to play too many of them at once. Learn the game, and then try playing it with one extra variant at a time. You won't regret it.
