- D&D light and with lots of laughs Review by Marc

It took me a long time to give it a try, but it was worth the try. If you are really into Dungeon crawling games or a beginner that would like to try the fantasy genre, Munchkins is a great card game for all.Value Quality Price
Everyone I played with found the cards funny, enjoyed the simple rules and the collective building up of monsters and attempts to slay them. I ended up by buying every expansion for this Munchkin theme. (Posted on 1/13/12) - Lighthearted game, Rules simple, but sometimes confusing Review by Louis

I love the satirical nature of the game. Very funny, and lighthearted. Rules sometimes too vague for my tastes. I tend to play this with my kids instead of with my gaming group. Would not recommend to "serious" gamers, wargamers and even to some extent certain roleplayers. Biggest asset is it's relatively cheap price point, hillarious art. More of a novelty game than a game with tons of replayability. Tons of expansions make it more appealing, but again I would prefer more concise rules... Our games tend to get a bit chaotic and uncertainty seems to spring up very often. (Posted on 9/14/11)Value Quality Price - -Sense of humour Needed- Review by Maxime Yazz

This is a good little card game for a group of player that are ready for all out silliness. The rules are mostly guidelines and the cards tell you whats going on. The humorous art and text of the game bring a lot of the fun. But beware a Munchkins game does have a tendencies to last a lot longer then expected. And also they are many expansion that allows you to customize your playing experience. (Posted on 4/14/10)Quality Price Value - Fun free-for-all game. Review by Morris

Fairly fun game. Gets kind of messy if you no one takes hostile actions towards another player until late game. The first hostile move is always hard to make when everyone is neutral. It is also hard to have couples playing in the game without them favoring each other.Quality Price Value
Personally I don't think this game is as fun as the amounts of expansions says it should be fun. (Posted on 2/22/10) - A silly game for fantastic fun Review by Murray

The Munchkin series all basically feature the same game with different themes. However, each set has its own noteworthy jokes and puns and maybe even an interesting twist to the rules (which are usually written in a vague manner in order to encourage more munchkinly interpretations thereof).Price Value Quality
In this game, players are all members of an adventuring party. On their turn, each player kicks down a door (turn over a door card), resolve it, hopefully fighting a monster along the way, and collect loot in the form of a treasure card or another door card. If they successfully defeat a monster, the player gains a level and the first player to get to level 10 wins. Along the way, players can amass a huge number of items to help them in battles and to "help" their fellow players. These items can be traded as bribes to other players to have them help you in battle or sold for levels. There are traps and curses as well that can cause you to lose your items or a level, as well if you fail to defeat a monster (or a group of monsters) and fail to run away, then bad things will happen that can cause the same effect of item/level loss.
This set of Munchkin is the original and its jokes are based around tabletop RPGs. As well, there are 7 or 8 expansions for this set and almost all of them are awesome and well worth it. Part of the enjoyment of Munchkin is found in the connection between the players and the theme, thus I recommend that people find a theme that appeals to them before buying.
The components of Munchkin sets consist of around 170 cards and a single die for escape rolls. The cards are decent quality, but I do recommend sleeves for people who play this game a lot. Players must provide their own way of tracking their levels and I recommend getting a set of Munchkin dice for that. As well, there are many Munchkin-related items that one can buy that can give you an advantage in game, allowing you to gain levels or dodge traps and curses, etc. All this creates a great game experience and really helps to give Munchkin a life and culture of its own.
All Munchkin games feature tonnes of humorous anecdotes and the game itself, though sometimes long, is always fun. Be careful however! Some players may harbor bitter feelings towards you as you backstab them on your way to victory and that may come out in future games. I highly recommend this game to anyone with a gaming group. Stripping out all those pesky role-playing elements, Munchkin focuses on those most important of all steps - killing monsters, getting loot and leveling up. Oh and in the meantime, backstabbing your friends.
Def-nitely recommended for all geeks. (Posted on 12/5/08)
