Age of Empires III is surprisingly fun board game that translates the feel of the original computer game quite well. Players have to decide which (if any) of their specialised workers to build each turn through worker placement in the first part, and then slowly resolve the 'taking over' of colonies after the worker placement phase is finished. With the ability to bid on turn order, resources and to send their various worker types to colonies and on trade routes, the game has multiple paths to victory.

Age of Empires III also has some great production values with great miniature figures for the workers and a well designed and laid out board. Easy to learn but with a ton of replay value, you'll definitely get your money's worth here. (Posted on 8/12/09)
