- Hanging Gardens is a quick, fun game with an interesting overlay mechanic Review by TR
-
Hanging Gardens is a quick fun family board game that has an interesting overlay mechanic that controls the game. Players choose from a series of cards to overlay on previously laid cards, with each card having specific tiles (up to 3) with a specific colour and blank (ground) tiles. The goal is to join coloured tiles on the cards together in a series, choosing when to score each series of tiles after placement.Value Quality Price
When scored, players can then choose to take tiles that they are attempting to collect, with each tile providing a set series of points. Sets of tiles will provide even greater points, providing an incentive for players to specialise early in the game.
Hanging Gardens is a pretty light board game with minimal instruction required and quick set-up times. With both tile drawing and card drawing randomised, and only a few significant decisions to be made, Hanging Gardens is extremely light and plays fast, thus making it a good 'filler' board game.
