Mad Scientist University is a mixture of the more popular Apples to Apples and Once Upon A Time card games. In Mad Scientist University, each player gets a single 'item' card which could range from 'Antimatter' to 'Squirrels' to 'Lawn Gnomes'.

All the players are then assigned an objective (drawn from a second deck) and must then explain to the currently in-charge Teacher Assistant how they are going to use their item to complete the objective.

Since the objectives can range from 'taking over the world' to 'creating perpetual motion'; the levels of insanity can truly be astounding. In fact, sometimes the simplest objectives are the silliest when combined together (e.g. Pulling an All Nighter and 'Fish').

Perhaps the strangest aspect of the game is that if you have something too relevant, you'll likely lose (e.g. Coffee and Pulling an All Nighter). The explanations too straightforward, and in a game named 'Mad Scientist University', sanity and thus lack of hilarity is a failing grade.

A nice, storytelling and creative game, this is one that could be shared with a ton of gamers and the general public. Just be certain that the group involved have a sense of humour! (Posted on 11/3/09)
