Zombies is a theme game, which means you really want to be in the right frame of mind. That means watching Shaun of the Dead or Army of Darkness before starting the game. It'll put you in the right mood.
The good news - this is a simple, easy to learn game. It's not particular hard, nor is it particularly difficult to learn - we picked it up within 5 minutes and starting shotgunning our way through town quickly enough. Add in some cute cards and great graphics and it's not a bad game at all.
The bad news - fiddly little pieces. A lot of them. There are tokens for life. Tokens for shotgun shells. Figures for the shotgun guys and the zombies (male and female) and cards. If you hate fiddly little pieces like me, stay away from this game. Also, because the game is simple, there isn't a huge level of variation. It's either run for it or in most cases, kill as many zombies as you can get your hands on.
All in all, it's a cheap game to gift to a horror fan, but it's not something I'll keep on the top of my shelf.
