AH is a cooperative game in which you and your cohorts attempt to close portals that are unleashing unspeakable horrors onto the streets and skies of Arkham in the 1920's. Manage to close them all and you save the world. Fail and you will come face to face with A Great Old One (GOO), a malevolent and wholly unholy god, with only your wits and hopefully a spell or two.
With 16 characters to choose from and selecting 1 out 8 available GOOS ensures a different gaming experience each time. This game does an amazing job of enveloping you in the arcane and insanity-inducing world of Arkham. It combines it's game system and the Lovecraftian theme (or Mythos) into a tense and enjoyable experience. That being said you do not need to have even heard of HP Lovecraft to enjoy this game.
As stated on the box you can play solo or up to 8 players, but my preference is no more than 6. The running time is about 3-5 hours so this is one that you will want to set an evening aside for.
If you're up to saving the world from plunging into insanity and chaos you cannot go wrong with Arkham Horror.
