Descent is probably the biggest value in a game that I've seen in a long while. The box weighs more than 10 pounds. It's packed with loads of plastic miniatures, cards and plenty of cardboard counters.

It's incredibly successful at creating an enjoyable dungeon crawl for single-play experiences. This is not a campaign style game. Each of the 10-12 scenarios is designed to be standalone, although there is a loose narrative tying them together.

Descent is the single most-requested game from my playing group. It's complex but not confusing, it's beautiful and it's very team oriented. The only major problem with the game is it's lengthly playing time. We've had games last from 5 to 8 hours. So bring it out for a solid afternoon of playtime, and make sure people focus on the game for best results.

This game has many expansions which add campaign play, more difficulty and loads of more monsters, heroes and options.
