Product Review (submitted on November 4, 2009):
Of the many adjectives to describe Small World, the most apt, I believe is "fun". There's really no beating around the bush on this one. The game is just plain fun. The components are excellent, as is the case with all Days of Wonder games, the rules are clear, and game play is quick.

The most enjoyable aspect of the game is the sheer sillyness of the race and power combinations. There is just something ridiculously dorky and satisfying by attacking someone with your Commando Haflings or your Flying Elves. This game is not a wargame in the true sense of the genre, but provides a bit of conflict while hilarity ensues.

There's honestly little about this game that cannot be enjoyed. From the artwork to the mechanics, it is really a great game. Perhaps serious gamers won't find it complex enough, but everyone needs to have a lighter game in their collection. Moreover, the game is good for all ages, and the playing time is pretty quick once everyone knows how to play (I can't imagine a game taking 90 minutes as stated on the box). All in all, this is really an excellent game.
