Samurai

Theme : In Samurai, award winning designer Reiner Knizai takes on medieval Japan. You'll need to surround, control and capture the clergy, nobles and peasants to become the Shogun.

Gameplay : Samurai starts by placing three scoring figures on a modular basis. Players then choose five out of twenty tokens to begin the game with. The remainder 15 tiles will be drawn from randomly during the rest of the game. Each turn, players will generally place a single tile to on the board. If the tile placement results in a city being completely surrounded by tiles then you compare scores and distribute figures based on the comparison. Each of the three tiles applies only towards the symbol included on it, and samurai, ships, and ronin are 'wild' and count towards all three (though they are lower valued then the specific tiles). If the scoring results in a tie then that piece is removed from the game. The game is played until the last figure of any type is captured from the board, or less commonly when the fourth figure is set aside due to a tie. The goal is to capture the most figures in two of the three types.
