Theme : San Juan brings Puetro Rico’s golden age to life! Players travel to the capital city of this beautiful island to develop their plantations and the city itself in a bid to become the richest individual in the city.
Can you manage your resources and buildings to become the largest businessman in San Juan?
Gameplay : San Juan is played in a series of rounds, with each round consisting of multiple turns. Each turn is taken by a different player who may choose a role that specifies a specific action. These actions include building, producing goods, trading goods, prospecting and more. Each of these actions may be taken by all players, but the player who chooses the action gains an additional privilege in that role.
As the game continues, players will use the various roles to build up their portion of the city and the surrounding countryside around San Juan. It is through the sale of goods from the plantations and other mills and the roles that will allow them to draw additional cards. These cards can then be used to build their city / plantation further, the payment for building cards is made by discarding cards from the hand.
San Juan is a fast playing card game that is similar to the highly ranked, award winning Puerto Rico board game and is strategic enough and fast playing such that both beginners and advanced players can enjoy the game.
