Theme : TZAAR is a game about making choices. The aim of Tzaar is to either make the opponent run out of one of the three types of pieces available or to put him in a position in which he cannot capture any pieces.
Gameplay :In Tzaar, both players have 30 pieces of three types : 6 Tzaars, 9 Tzarras and 15 Totts. Each turn, players may decide to either join together their pieces to make them stronger or capture an opponent's piece to weaken them.
Tzaar is the most recent game in project GIPF, replacing Tasmk which was felt to not quite fit in with the other GIPF games due to its use of sand timers.
