Product Description
Theme: War on Terror the board game has players taking on the role of Empires to take control and liberate the various countries of the world from tyranny. However, the terrorists are out on the board, attempting to overthrow the Empires and send them into a spiral into terrorism themselves.
Gameplay: In War on Terror, only the biggest and strongest Empires are up to the task of freeing the world. In the beginning each player plays an Empire that starts out as a couple of free villages which can be settled anywhere on the board.
Oil resources are placed randomly throughout the board and will provide their resources via a dice rolls. Each turn, players slowly expand their empires, searching for the best oil and thus cash.
Two decks - the Empire Deck and the Terrorist deck are available, with the ability to make war, steal, hijack, deploy suicide bombers, enhance or reduce production or even lob nukes at other players.
Throughout the War on Terror, players can build up their own Empire or use the Terrorists (which are jointly controlled) to do their dirty work. As players fall to the wayside, they join the Terrorists, working co-operatively now to pull down the Empires to win.
In addition, an Evil Empire - randomly created through a Spinner - adds even more tension t the game. You'll gain additional cards and the use of the Terrorist deck as the Evil Empire, but other Empires are incentivised to attack at the same time.
War on Terror is a back-stabbing, high negotiation, high politics civilisation game that is both a satire and a solid board game.
