Theme : In the Wizard's Gambit, a thousand years have passed since The Fallen retreated from Hyrathia at the end of the War of Legends. Now, the Fallen have returned and there is need for a Grand Siege Magus once again to lead the wizard's of all Hyrathia into battle. Will you be the one to do so?
"Join the Convocation of Wizards in battle against the ancient enemy - The Fallen! Do you have what it takes to become the next Grand Siege Magus?"
Gameplay : In Wizard’s Gambit, players are wizards who must show their competence by crafting the most ingenious spells. They do so by taking turns placing Magical Components on Spells in a common Spell Pool in the center of the play area.
When all of the required Magical Components have been placed on a given Spell, the wizard who completed that Spell claims it as his own. This spell is now his for use in his Spell Book and will aid him in defeating his competitors.
Additionally, quick casting Incantations can be played each turn, providing powerful advantages that disperse quickly. Occasionally, calling upon their wiles, they may evoke the Wizard's Gambit, a powerful spell to thwart other wizards and claim the spells for their own.
In Wizard's Gambit, each Spell has a point value, which adds up cumulatively to represent their Spell Book’s score. The first wizard to reach a Spell point total of ten (10) points wins the game and is proclaimed Grand Siege Magus.
