Product Description

Theme : World of Warcraft: the Adventure Game is in the vein of popular adventure games such as Talisman and Prophecy. Moving through the world of Azeroth, players take on four characters (Warrior, Hunter, Warlock and Mage) of the World of Warcraft from their initial low levels to their status as legendary heroes. Will you battle your opponents and come out victorious?

Gameplay : World of Warcraft the Adventure Game is a pure adventure game where players move their characters across the board in search of Valour and glory. Valour Poitns dictate the winner of the game, most often provided by the completion of randomly drawn quest from the Quest deck.

The board in WoW the Adventure Game is made up of various important locations in the online game (e.g. Deadmines, Booty Bay, etc.) which are connected by corridors that players may move through. Specific corridors are colour-coded to allow only specific level characters to enter, much like the online game.

In World of Warcraft the Adventure Game, players roll and move their characters each turn, choosing which direction and space to move onto. Each space offers two interactions - one dictated by the space itself and another by the encounter card drawn from the deck. Most often, the encounter cards are monsters to be defeated (potentially to reach a specific Quest objective) but could be special events as well. Combat in World of Warcraft is relatively simple, using both ranged and melee dice that must be rolled for the final result. However, these dice and the die rolls can be further modified through abilities.

Characters each receive a 'talent' deck that can be drawn from during the game with additional cards provided for at specific locations on the board. These talent cards vary by class, allowing for some level of customisation and differentiation between characters.

Lastly, leveling in the Wow Adventure Game (to be able to move through the different parts of the board) occurs not through the gaining of experience but the defeat of specific 'board' characters. It is in the Yellow and Red sections of the board where the major items and quests are available, allowing players who reach there first the chance to really gain Valour points.

Overall, the World of Warcraft Adventure Game is an interesting twist on the basic adventure game premise. With more ability to customise characters and a series of different boards for movement, this is a definite 'adventure' game with a twist that depicts Azeroth and adventuring very well.
